At a ceremony held on Capitol Hill in
Washington, DC, Unionville Vineyards was presented with
an award won earlier in the year at the Atlantic Vinifera Wine Competition. The Unionville Vineyards, 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon,
estate grown from Ringoes, New Jersey, won a Gold Medal
for Best Cabernet Sauvignon and the "Best of Category"
award. There were 13 Gold Medals and 7 Best of Category
awards presented. Congressman Rush Holt, the member of District 12
where Unionville Vineyards is located, was on hand to
present the award.
In a brief speech, the Congressman said that he was
proud that Unionville Vineyards was within his district
and he was happy to be a customer and regularly bought
their wines. He considered Unionville Vineyards wines
among New Jersey's finest and it was a great pleasure to
see them win this prestigious award. Congressman Holt
also mentioned the increase in wineries and vineyards in
New Jersey and the steady improvement in the quality as
shown by this award.

was held under the auspices of the US Congressional Wine
Caucus and was attended by numerous Congressman & Senators,
who enjoyed a tasting of the award winning wines during the
presentation.
