Dear Friends,
We’re closing in on the time of year when the winery truly does come “alive”. Within the next couple of days we’ll start harvesting the grapes from our vineyards and continue hopefully thru the very end of October (if Mother Nature cooperates). There’s not a better time to visit the winery to experience the sights, sounds, aromas, and of course taste, than harvest.
Apparently, a lot of people agree. The response for volunteers to take part in our “Hands On” Harvest Day set for September 23, 2006 has been overwhelming. In fact, the event closed out within days of the opening registration date. We were convinced, well maybe coerced, to set a second date so that all the “wannabe” winemakers out there have an opportunity to participate. Saturday, October 7nd is the date we’ve added. Complete details can be found on our website. But don’t delay in signing up, that date is filling up quickly as well.
The next event at Unionville is one we’ve been really excited about and takes place this weekend. Our Annual Blues Festival promises to be awesome! Performing at Unionville for the first time will be a blues band from Philadelphia that rivals all others, Georgie Bonds. Invite some friends and spend a great afternoon “wining down” with phenomenal music and great wines. See our last minute special offer below as an added incentive.
Also, if you’re interested in wine and would either enjoy sharing your knowledge or are looking to learn, Unionville is now actively recruiting part time help for festivals, special events and the wine shop. Send an email to uvineyards@aol.com or call the winery and ask for Ellie.
As always, if you’ve visited the winery lately, it was great to see you. If you keep promising yourself a visit and just haven’t found the time, you owe it to yourself. The views on the road leading into the winery are breathtaking, our staff will be thrilled to see you and the wines are simply the best!
Cheers!
