Hi Friends,

The old saying about March "coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb" will hopefully hold true this year. I am more than ready to see the first signs of spring. Pruning of the vines is nearing an end and I surmise even the vines are anticipating their spring awakening as well.

Regardless of the weather, there is always something going on at the winery. Winemaker, Cameron Stark has been busy entering some of our stellar wines in both national and international competitions. Some soon to be releases include our much anticipated Chardonnay 05, Hunter’s Red Reserve 04, and Seyval Blanc 05. A natural occurrence with the arrival of spring is the revving up of our bottling line. Many of the white wines from this past year’s harvest will soon make their way from the stainless steel tanks into the bottles. So much work, so little time...

Our 2007 events have been firmed up. Many are a repeat of last year’s success stories and there’s a new event you’ll want to be sure to save the date for! "A Salute to Women’s Health Day" will be held on Saturday, June 2nd from 12:00 Noon - 5:00 pm. This phenomenally fun and educational day is focused on raising funds for multiple organizations that support women’ health issues; breast cancer, ovarian cancer, heart disease and lung cancer. Planned activities include grape stomping, creating a white wine blend, a run/walk in the vineyard, and a blind tasting. Our enthusiasm around this event is running rampant and once you get the scoop, so will yours! Detailed information is posted on our website. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold, so don’t be disappointed, be sure to register early.

Starting in April, we’ll be kicking off our "Wine of the Month" program that will feature wine education classes once a month along with special pricing on both bottle and case purchases on the selected wine for the month.. The first class will focus on Chardonnay and will be held on Sunday, April 15th from 3:00 - 4:00pm. Registration is limited, so be sure to sign up. Complete details are posted on our website.

We’ve been busy fielding many inquiries regarding hosting private events at the winery. If you’re looking to do something different in a unique venue to celebrate a special event, be sure to consider hosting your event at the winery. For business entities, we also offer unique team building ideas from blind tastings to hands-on-harvesting in an extraordinary venue! Visit our website or call the winery for more information.

If you haven’t visited the wine shop lately and love cheese you owe yourself a visit. Local supplier, HunVal Farms now provides us with both Gouda and fresh Mozzarella. Samples are readily available for tasting.

As always, our tasting room staff is ready and willing to share their love and knowledge of wine with you. We look forward to seeing you soon. Think spring!

Cheers!
