Note: Fees for four fundraising activities are not included in admission price and are noted below. They will be collected day of event and will be donated to charity of your choice.
Join us for a day of learning, sharing and celebrating women’s health on the scenic grounds of Unionville Vineyards. Help raise funds for multiple organizations that support women’s health issues including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, heart disease and lung cancer. Enjoy a great fun-filled afternoon with friends and family while contributing to a great cause. Make it a ‘girls outing” and invite a group of friends. Bring your mom, sisters, dads or spouses, guys are more than welcome!
With the goal of raising much needed funds that promote research and support of women’s health issues, there will be an opportunity to take part in any or all of four unique fee-based activities. Choose to take a walk or run among the flowering vines in the vineyard, or try out your winemaking skills and create a white wine blend with winemaker Cameron Stark. Relive a favorite episode of “I Love Lucy” and take part in grape stomping. You’ll also have a chance to test your skills at identifying grape varietals in a blind wine tasting, while learning the ABC’s of tasting. Participate in any or all of the activities and enjoy a phenomenal fun-filled afternoon.
Take time to kick back and relax to the sounds of the Jeff Bellfy band while tasting some great Unionville wines and snacking on some light fare. In addition, spokespersons from various non-profit organizations associated with these women health issues will be in attendance sharing useful information.
Admission tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online at localwineevents.com. A maximum of three hundred tickets will be sold, so don’t be left out. Fees for the various fund-raising activities are payable the day of the event.
Fundraising Activities Include:
- “Blend for the Cause”
Lend a hand at creating a great white wine blend and take home a bottle. Winemaker Cameron Stark will lead this hands-on informative and educational activity. Cameron’s phenomenal success in winemaking along with a great sense of humor will definitely contribute to making this an activity you don’t want to miss!
(Approx. one hour)
Fee: $15.00
Times Offered: 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m.., and 4:00 p.m.
- “Walk to Cure” –
Gather the support of family and friends through sponsorships and walk to raise funds for the charity of your choice. Be at one with nature, as you walk among the flowering vines throughout the vineyard. Life just doesn’t get any better!
Fee: $5 (minimum donation)
Times Offered: Ongoing throughout the afternoon
- “Grape Stomp Out”
Stomp till you drop – this fun-filled challenging activity will leaving you laughing. It’s harder than it looks! Each participant gets an opportunity to squish their toes amongst the juice of the grapes. Groups of 3 – 5 persons can join together to see how much juice they can produce within a timed amount. Not to worry, we won’t use these grapes for our wine production.
Fee: $10
Times Offered: Ongoing throughout the afternoon
- “Taste to Eliminate”
Think you know wines? Take the challenge and test your skills in a blind tasting. Taste your way through some of the more popular varietals and see how many you can identify.
Some what competitive? Set up groups of friends to compete against each other and see who the true “winos” are!
